Samsung Galaxy A22 5G Unboxing And First Impressions

the Samsung Galaxy A22 5G, it’s the first 5G phone in the Galaxy A series. It’s interesting, we’re going to unbox & will give its first impressions. Unboxing – It’s a white box & a green phone with “Samsung” on top. It’s a tall display phone. We’ll look at it later, there’s a 15W charger, a USB Type C cable, sim card tool & some documentation. And there’s no case, let’s keep it all aside & take a look at the phone. It’s a tall phone with an amazing colour. It’s not a glass back, but anyone would say it looks like frosted glass. It looks nice & premium, honestly. It’s a midrange phone & comes under the Exp. ৳25,000 And the looks are good!

In Hand Feel – It feels a little heavy, about 195-200g. Even if you have average hands, it’s tall but it’ll fit perfectly. Let’s weigh it. It’s 201g just as I guessed it is close to 200g. There’s no case but we’re still going to do the drop test but I won’t drop it from a height. [Drop Test] Nothing, that’s good! Now with the back side. [Drop Test] That sound always worries me even with or without the case! Ports & Buttons – Below, there’s a speaker grill, a USB Type C port, a microphone & a 3.5mm jack. On the left, there’s a sim card tray. Above, there’s a noise cancelling microphone. On the right, there’s a volume rocker(up & down) & a power button(on/off) which doubles up as a fingerprint sensor.

This mint colour seems under-stated but it looks nice. I find such colours premium, which I like. So rather than flashy, I’d prefer these colours. There are 3 colour variants(Mint, Grey & Violet). Let’s boot up the phone! If you’re enjoying our unboxing, We’ll check the sim card tray while it starts. It has a dedicated SD card slot. Display – It’s a big screen with 6.6” FHD+ screen with 90Hz fast refresh rate. But it’s a TFT display. We expect AMOLED displays with Samsung phones but this has a TFT display.

It has an infinity V notch with average bezels on the top & sides. The chin is slightly bigger than average. Specifications – It has the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G processor & is popular in the budget midrange phones.
It’s a 5G phone & has 11 band support, which is good! There are 2 variants, the 6GB+128GB & the 8GB+128GB.
It has LPDDR4X RAM type & eMMC storage type. It has a 5000mAh battery with 15W charging, which’ll last for the whole day easily. It’ll last you for the whole day even with moderate usage & with normal/light usage it’ll go up to 1-1.5 days. Performance – We’ve tested the Dimensity 700 SoC extensively, all the Dimensity processors have impressed me. The Dimensity 700 gives you a sustained gaming performance, you won’t have a problem under low-medium settings.

And there won’t be much frame drops on low-medium settings. In my opinion, the storage type should have been UFS 2.1. OS UI – It comes with OneUI 3.1 based on Android 11. Samsung claims that all A series phones will get 2 years of major OS updates & 3 years of security patches, which is good.

There are some pre-installed apps which you can uninstall. Sensors – All sensors are available, there’s a side mounted fingerprint sensor & face unlock which work well. Connectivity – It has 5G(11 bands), dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi calling support, Bluetooth 5.0 & dual band WiFi. Camera – On the rear, it has a 48MP+5MP+2MP triple camera setup & on the front there’s an 8MP selfie sensor. The 8MP front camera should have been better for this price range. But I’m showing you the 48MP primary sensor photos, they look soft with the ultrawide & colours are ok. But the selfie sensor should have been better.

Multimedia – It’s a big screen with a TFT display, so the colours might seem a little faded. But the overall Post viewing experience is good & the bottom mono speaker is loud. So the multimedia experience is decent.
Features – You get Widevine L1 support for HD streaming & Camera2api support for GCam port. There’s a OneUI dialer, where generally you get the Google dialer, so that’s good. It has FM Radio but no notification light. So this is the Samsung Galaxy A22, the first 5G phone in the A series.
