Pressing and holding this button will put the headphones in pairing mode. You can store up to 8 mobile devices in the headphones Bluetooth device list, and your headphones can be actively connected to two devices at a time. However, you can only play audio from one device at a time. Beneath that is the Voice Assistant button. Press it to summon your mobile devices’ built-in voice assistant.

You can customize this button to summon a different voice assistant, such as the Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, via the Bose Music app. The front of the right earcup serves as a touch surface area. By swiping or tapping the touch surface you can play or pause audio, skip forward or backward, change the volume, and perform basic call functions.

If you tap and hold the touch surface area, a voice prompt will announce the battery level. “Battery 20+ hours.” Additional shortcuts like this may be added in the future. Check the Bose Music app for software updates. On the left-side earcup, you will find the Noise Control button. Pressing this will cycle through your three favorite noise canceling levels.

By default, the three levels are:
“Zero.”
This provides full awareness of your surroundings.
“Five.”
This provides some awareness of your surroundings.
“Ten.”

This provides full noise cancellation. You can customize your noise cancellation experience within the Bose Music app, by tapping this settings icon, and then tapping “Noise Cancellation.” By default, whenever you power on your headphones, they’re set to full noise cancellation. If you want your headphones to remember your last used noise cancellation level, turn on this toggle.

If you wish to turn off the noise cancellation functionality altogether, use this toggle. To customize your favorite noise cancellation levels, select a favorite, slide to your preferred level, and then tap “Save.” You can now cycle between your three favorite levels by using the Noise Control button.

If you press and hold the Noise Control button for one second, you will activate Conversation Mode. This is a convenient method to simultaneously pause your audio and give you full awareness. Use this to have a quick conversation with someone or immediately be aware of your surroundings.

Press any button to return to the previous noise cancellation level, and resume playing audio. You now have an understanding of all the controls available on your Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700.
